More Avengers Movie Rumors! Another Movie Villain Besides Loki! Who Will That Be? Plus Official Avengers Movie Trailer!
82
Since 2011, everyone has been interested in who The Avengers movie villain is going to be. The Avengers movie rumors about who the villain will be have been floating around since early 2011. Many speculated that Loki will be the main baddie in this highly anticipated comic book movie.
Then the Latino Review spread the rumor last year about a possible second movie villain being Thanos. The Latino Review has had a great track record of leaking spoilers and getting the scoop on movie news that those in Hollywood try to keep a tight lid on. They also leaked that the Skrulls will be the threat that causes the mightiest Marvel team of Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, The Hulk, Hawkeye, the Black Widow, Nick Fury, and S.H.I.E.L.D to assemble.
Whether these rumors are true, we wont know until Marvel either confirms it or we see the movie when it comes out. I think it's fun to speculate, but it's also nice to be surprised as well. For die-hard comic fans the anticipation is truly building about The Avengers Movie. So for fun sake, let's take a look at past The Avengers movie rumors.
Loki and Thanos As The Villains
Loki has been confirmed as a villain who will appear in The Avengers movie.
However, another second movie villain in The Avengers movie surfaced and was received with mixed feelings about the cosmic tyrant and Mad Titan - Thanos making his screen debut in The Avengers!
If you think about it, Thanos having a large part in The Avengers movie does make sense. With the cosmic cube playing a significant role in the Captain America movie, it's only natural for any comic book fan to think, Will Thanos be a part of this?
As most comic fans and Thanos fans know, Thanos first appearance in Iron Man #55 became an extended cross over story line, in which Thanos did travel to earth with an alien army in search of the cosmic cube. This, of course, was to use the cosmic cube to conquer the galaxy.
The cross over story began with Iron Man #55 and crossed over to Captain Marvel vol 1 #25-33, Daredevil vol 1 #107, and Avengers vol 1 #125.
So according to the history of the cosmic cube in the Marvel Universe, it does make sense that Thanos could be a villain that makes an entrance in The Avengers movie. This, however, still remains a rumor.
The Skrulls Invading Earth?
There has to be a major force in order for The Avengers to assemble. We want to see our heroes be tested, don't we? The Latino Review also reported that the Skrulls will be the alien force that earth's mightiest heroes will be taking on, but will the Skrulls be in The Avengers movie? It's quite possible.
New leaked photos of a downed alien craft on The Avenger set has suggested that an alien force will be part of the story plot. Also look at the second photo of the actor in one of those suits they use for CGI purposes. Hmmm..could he possibly be a Skrull?
I'm really not sure why the Skrulls, but they are an alien race of shift shapers and one of the most popular of alien baddies in Marvel comics. Besides, Joss Whedon did start off as a comic book writer, and since he wrote and is directing The Avengers movie, I'm sure he wants to keep it as close to the comics as much as possible.
Fans have cried out in protest to this rumor of the Skrulls being behind an alien invasion, saying that's overkill. What did you expect, though? This is The Avengers! They're not going to be fighting against a teeny threat here.
I do have to admit, however, just seeing Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow and Hawkeye going up against The Hulk would've been more than fine for me. I still think The Hulk could whoop 'em all at once, and I'd love to see that.

The Red Skull Will Appear In The Movie?
The latest of The Avenger movie rumors is that The Red Skull will be the second main villain of the movie. It really wasn't confirmed that The Red Skull died in the Captain America: The First Avenger movie, and the cosmic cube just sucked The Red Skull to some other world.
How did this rumor start about? Well, the new heroclix toy line just released a press release about their new Avengers figures, based on the movie, and guess who is one of them? That's right - The Red Skull.
Personally, I think The Red Skull figure just has to do with the Captain America: The First Avenger movie. After all, it's a film that's part of the continuity of The Avengers movie. Then again, that fact that the Captain America movies are part of the continuity of The Avengers movies, won't The Red Skull be showing up in the Captain America sequel?
The Red Skull in The Avengers movie is quite plausible...but I'm not basing this rumor because of the Heroclix press release or whatever. It just makes sense that he would at least make an appearance since it's well known that Captain America will have a sequel.

Not taking anything away from the strength and ferocity of the Hulk, but to think that the Hulk could defeat Thor on a level playing field (meaning sans Marvel's bias), is inane. You forget that Thor's power never has been unleashed against the Hulk. Why? Because Thor has a respect for life that prevents him from unleashing his power literally bringing an end to the Hulk.
Like it or not, this movie could be titled Thor 2 - The Avengers, because it is Loki who is the main villain. This essentially is a continuation of Thor. And rumor has it, the ending of this movie sets the table for Thor 2. Again, not taking anything away from the other heroes, but I have a feeling that Marvel is forcing Thor to be 'down-powered'. It took Thor less than a minute to defeat the Destroyer, a weapon created by Odin to battle the Celestials.
All things considered, the Hulk, angry though he may be, is no match for the god of thunder...
That said, I am looking forward to The Avengers. The trailers look very promising. Hopefully, the movie lives up to the hype.
its a rumor i want to spread that The Leader, is going to be on the new advengers as a villain movie to because on the previous HULK MOVIE. The doctor helping Bruce Banner named Samuel Sern. He had some blood dripping on his head when he created abomination an his head started to move so i think he will be another villain named the villains name "THE LEADER" he is a bad guy on the hulk comics with a big head. Look him up. O and The Leaders regular name Samuel Sern that why i think theirs a connection from him and the previous hulk movie and the new advengers movie.
Odins eye....just to let u know hulk has killed thor twice already in the marvel universe but u prob dont keep up with the comics so yeah....
Many ideas pop up iron man 3
or thor 2 thanos could place him up for avengers 2 flick but what about the sliver surfer! Or fantastic. Four mavel is getting their rights back!
I won't spoil the movie for those who haven't seen it (just to brag a little, I'm going to see it for the third time tonight), but The Avengers is AMAZING!! Everything I was hoping, and more.
@OdinsEye - Thor is my favorite Avenger, by far, so don't think me biased when I say this: I think the Hulk would give him a run for his money. I never had a chance to read the comics as a kid, so everything I know I've learned from online sources in the past few years. But, if it's true that adamantium is the only thing that can penetrate the Hulk's skin then Wolverine is one of the only people that could beat him. *Minor Spoiler* Banner even says in The Avengers that he tried to kill himself with a bullet in the mouth and "the other guy spit it out". Thor has a fighting chance, but it would be one tough battle.
@Kee - I don't want to be a jerk, but don't spread rumors unless you have a basis for your information. There has been zero indication in any of the movies that he will make any appearance. If he does, I can't believe it will be outside of a Hulk movie. (And on a personal level, can you please try and make your posts a little more legible? That last one gave me a headache.)
At this point, honestly, it's a waste of time to speculate on who the villains of The Avengers are. I think it would be interesting to speculation on what roles they will play in upcoming movies.

I hope the avengers has the action scenes fans have been waiting for. Some of the past few marvel movies have been lacking good action sequences.
